Credible image of the company for which they work, quality work and customer satisfaction. These are the most important work values for Czech managers. Requirements of employees and personal gain are, on the contrary, the least important ones. This follows from the conclusions of the study titled The probe into the life of managers in the CR, initiated by the Czech Management Association (CMA) in collaboration with the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic (SPČR) and undertaken by Ipsos Tambor research agency.
It appears that Czech managers usually work eight to ten hours a day and most of them also during weekends. In their personal lives, they put the greatest emphasis on happy family, meaningful and useful work and children.
90% of Czech managers have personal vision of what they want to achieve. They are led by the principle of healthy living style, ability to say "no" and control over their stress. Nearly 80% of Czech managers believe that the quality of their work is comparable to the quality of work of similar managers abroad.
Application of the current knowledge of science and research is quite a problem for Czech managers. Almost two thirds of managers surveyed think that Czech science and research do not come with enough creative ideas applicable in their field.
The research addressed 700 senior managers, middle managers and owners of companies on the Czech republic in the filed of manufacturing, services and government. Most respondents were finalists in the competition called Manager od the Year, organized by the Czech Management Association in cooperation with the Confederation of Industry of the Republic and the Confederation of Employers and business associations.
"The goal of our project was to identify Czech manager as a man with his values, goals and opinions. The results will contribute not only to further insights but also to popularize the work and life of managers in the country. We recognize that comprehensive information is still missing, so we called the survey Probe into the life of managers in the CR," said Ivo Gajdos, vicepresident of the Czech Management Association, in a press release on the occasion of the publication of the study results.
