Why are not you a good boss?

You surly want to be a good boss but you also know that it is not enough just to want. Therefore, try to focus on what stands in your way to become a good boss. It probably will be one of the following typical obstacles.

1. You focus only on what you know

Focusing on what we do best is natural. However, it does not mean you should ignore other aspects of how your organization is operating. Tech managers, for example, should be aware of how the company sells its products and sales managers, in turn, should know how their products are manufactured.

2. You act only according to what you see

Consider whether what you perceive in your everyday work is not only a very limited part of reality. Try to consciously focus on areas related to your work you have less experience in and you are not completely comfortable with.

3. You don't admit that you can't know everything

You simply can't know everything. If you are unsure, say so. Be an example for your people by asking questions and admiting you were wrong.

4. You think your work is more valuable than the work of others

Maybe you do it unconsciously. You know every detail of your work and how difficult it is. Unfortunately, you don't perceive that you are not the only one working hard.

5. You don't admit that you don't understand

Don't nod at everything only not to lose your face. The fact that you don't understand something will come out sooner or later and it will only demotivate your people. Ask questions directly.
