A few productive changes, which do not cost much, but worth it

Productivity, efficiency, optimization... If you went back and forth through a long corridor at work, you would certainly hear at least one of the above expressions coming from some office. They are still important, and not only in terms of business processes. Moreover, neither you nor your employees want to sit in the office until evening on a Friday, while others have already gone home to their families or out for some entertainment. While more time or resources for work can be a solution, small changes in your routines may not be a bad thing and do not cost much. The Daily Muse website has designed five:

1. Wednesday meetings are not necessary...

...or Thursday, or Friday meetings. This is purely up to you. Corporate meetings sometimes take up to half a day or so and it does not matter whether they are in the morning or afternoon. What is important is that you will not work on any important project that day. Thus, set aside one day without company meetings or appointments as the companies Facebook, Kiva or Asana do.

2. Walk

A classic meeting could be called a “sitting”. A group of people closed in a room, some listening, others desperately bored. Try a "walking" meeting. Take a walk outside the office or building in a smaller group. Brainstorming, feedback and solving tough situations will suddenly get easier and more productive.

3. Share your bogeymen

Every job has its less popular parts and just coming to work knowing that you actually have to deal with some of them is a motivation killer. Organize your weekly joint meeting, where you pull your skeletons out of the closet and share them with others. Just the fact that you can complain is in itself more „fun". Moreover, what if someone can advise you?

4. Switch roles

You do not need to use the same scheme as Google that allows its employees to devote 20% of working time to their own projects and thus supports creativity and the desire to work. Try assigning your employees small tasks related to their interests – a salesperson gets a task in Photoshop, a graphic designer writes a PR article... As a result, they can improve in new areas that interest them and are also beneficial for your business.

5. Promote diversity...

...mainly in terms of various working conditions. Study after study shows that open space or plenty of “coops” in a huge area is not the best solution. Productivity and creativity require a bit of freedom and change of environment. Rebuilding the office is not easy, true. But people can also work in areas for relaxation on the couch, in the kitchen or together in a free conference room. There are many options...

How do you promote productivity and creativity in your company? Do you know where you still have reserves to work on?
