Are you busy? You don’t have to be

Time is precious. Let’s consider why you might in fact have more time than you think.

I don’t have time. I’m too busy. We hear this all the time. Yes, our time is indeed limited. But it is up to you how you spend it. And sometimes you may just be lying to yourself.

Lack of time is often just an excuse

Sometimes we claim we are busy simply because we don’t want to do something. We don’t feel like meeting someone, taking on another project, or attending an event. Being busy then becomes our go-to excuse because it represents an easy way out. Furthermore, it allows us not to hurt anyone’s feelings when we reject them.

Stop lying to yourself

We should behave as responsible adults because that is who we are. Claiming time constraints don’t allow us to do something is often the equivalent of saying our parents prohibited us from doing it. This is just an excuse, states an article on the addicted2success.com website.

We created our conditioned habit and sometime during the process we began to lie to ourselves as well. If you’re constantly using the time excuse, you probably already believe that lie.

You do have time: it is just about priorities

It really does depend on what your priority is. If it is to meditate more often, you will simply find time to meditate. If getting more physical exercise is your priority, you will manage to wake up a little bit earlier to do some exercising.

Yes, all of us are busy. But don’t believe you don’t have the time to do what you need to do. Maybe you are just too accustomed to this excuse to notice that sometimes it is not the case.
