Ending a workday properly is as important as starting it right. The end of a day is a springboard for the next morning you should start with a feeling of success and fulfillment. Properly ending your day at work can also help you reduce the stress level you leave for home with, making a positive contribution to your health and family life.

How, then, to end the workday right? Forbes.com advises:

Check your to-do list

Make sure that you have carried out what you should have done or better plan how to do it. If you can do something quickly before leaving, do not keep it for the next morning.

Go through your schedule for the next day

Remind yourself of what awaits you tomorrow and include possible backlogs from today. To encourage positive thinking, choose one task to look forward to tomorrow.

Talk to your boss and colleagues

Before leaving, discuss the state of the projects you are working on. You will be reminded of important deadlines to be met and you will make yourself sure that you are all on the same wavelength.

Clean up your desk

Before you leave the office, take a few minutes to throw off the trash from your desk and organize the written materials that lie on it. Coming to work the next day will be more enjoyable.

Manage paperwork and e-mails

The end of a workay is the ideal time for the tasks that do not require calling. In addition, even you should not be disturbed by anybody on the phone.

Finish everything you can

Do not leave anything that can be done in a short while unfinished. Then, it will be easier for you to disconnect from your work in your thoughts.

Evaluate your day and leave with positive thoughts

Take a short time to think of what you have achieved today and what you did successfully. Do not bring stress and bad mood home with you.

Say goodbye to colleagues

Saying goodbye is an important office ritual just as the morning greeting. Greet friendly and loud, especially if you are in a leading position.

Turn off e-mail and phone

Turn off your cell phone or at least do not read e-mails on it. Let your surroundings know that you do not handle mail after working hours.
