Five types of managers because of whom employees quit their job

Being a good manager is a big responsibility. Besides other things, this is because the leader's persona plays a key role in employee satisfaction. At the same time, if a manager is so bad that they have a destructive impact on the team and a toxic effect on their surroundings, they might be the main reason why their subordinates think about leaving the company. Make sure you are not one of the five types of managers who cause their team members to quit their job.

A leader without respect towards others

As CIO.com states, a certain respect towards others comes with a management position. Moreover, a good manager should be able to adapt to the people they are talking to at any given moment, and they should treat them with respect.

A manager changing their opinions

A team manager should not change their opinions unexpectedly and team members should know what is expected of them. If the manager is inconsistent, has a different approach to different people, or changes their opinion, it creates a very unpleasant working environment for team members.

A leader unable to motivate others

A manager must be able to convey a clear vision to other people that they can focus on, as well as an unambiguous idea of what is expected of  individual employees. If the manager is unable to motivate the team members through these tools, it is a big problem.

A manager without the necessary hard skills

A team manager may have the best possible soft skills but if they lack theoretical, technical or practical knowledge of the given field, it might be a big handicap that keeps them from sufficiently predicting future developments and being an effective leader.

One who preaches water but drinks wine

A manager must serve as a role model to team members. The principles and standards the manager expects from employees must be maintained by the manager themselves; otherwise they will lose all respect and their requests will lose their effect.
