The strength and skills of a leader show especially in critical and dynamic situations. One such situation is a period when a company or team is going through a transformation or some major change. How do you guide your team through turbulent changes successfully? Here are some tips.
As Addicted2Success.com states, the first step is to stop seeing the entire situation only through your own lens. And you need to empathise with your subordinates. Become aware of how they perceive the situation, what they may be nervous or doubtful about, and then address those doubts.
In situations where a team or company is undergoing radical change, it is essential to see one another more often than usual. If at all possible, increase the frequency of team meetings and individual meetings with subordinates.
Your team will feel disengaged if they are not involved in the situation at all. Allow them to make decisions about certain aspects of changes that directly affect them.
Be patient. Explain everything. Do not leave subordinates in doubt and do not let them create their own hypotheses and theories.
Be aware of how subordinates see the situation. Ask for their opinion. And, where possible, at least give their ideas serious consideration.
