Time management is difficult for many busy managers. As they have numerous duties and often have to deal with unexpected events during a working day, many of them are unable to plan their days effectively. But don't worry: here are some tips on how to organise your time better even if you are extremely busy in your managerial role.

First of all, you must go through all the activities you have currently planned and see what takes up most of your time. Effective time management cannot be achieved just by adding more activities to the existing ones. You need to revise the current ones and ask yourself: do you really need to deal with all of them? Do you have to be present everywhere? Could you not delegate some activities to other people?
The problem shared by many busy people is that they need to react to numerous events and requests during any given day. Your task is to reduce the number of items that require immediate action. Use automation or delegate part of your decision-making authority to colleagues or subordinates.
Do not attempt multi-tasking. Always dedicate a time block within your working day to just one task, and always try to focus on a single task at any given moment.
Your schedule must not be full if you want to have a certain freedom in planning your own time. But that is impossible if you need to be present at every decision and meeting that takes place. Try to delegate more of your duties and responsibilities to subordinates, and thus have more free time for your own activities and strategic planning.
